What is ANU Medical?

ANU Medical is a telemedicine-based health optimization clinic. ANU Medical focuses on making sure that every client achieves the most optimal, individualized health results possible. We use advanced, evidence-based research and treatment plans to get you feeling better than you have in years.

Traditional medicine focuses on waiting for health problems to arise, and then treating those problems after the damage is done. This band-aid approach not only leads to higher healthcare and insurance costs, but also ignores the kind of treatments that may have prevented the problem in the first place.

ANU Medical focuses on preventative measures, diagnostic interventions, and cellular medication, to help prevent or decrease the likelihood of a chronic disease from ever starting. With this approach, we can optimize each client with the tools and knowledge to get them where they want to be. Health is a journey, and we are here to help you along that path every step of the way.

About Matt About Matt
About Matt Miller:

I have always been passionate about helping others. In college, I enrolled in a nursing program and graduated with a bachelor of science with honors. I later went on to get my FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner) license. Within two years of practicing, I went to the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) in order to help patients who are in the most desperate need of care. Confronting the challenges patients face with heart disease—what the Centers for Disease Control identifies as the leading cause of death for both men and women—requires both compassion and expertise.

When COVID hit, I decided to start traveling around the country to bring my skills and expertise to the bedside. To care for those unable to leave their home, I traveled to California, Mississippi, and Florida, working alongside some of the best medical care professionals in the business.

Along the way, I encountered too many people that simply didn’t know how to care for themselves. Too many people who saw their provider when they were sick or hurt, but never felt “great.” Never felt the way they wanted to, to live their life the way they wanted.

I knew that there has to be a better way to help people, rather than waiting for an issue to come up and just prescribe pills that could then cause other issues to arise. I wanted to open an optimization clinic for people who “don’t have enough energy” to have that energy. I want people to experience life to their full potential, regardless of age. I love helping people look and feel better than they have in years, and to be there for them for their entire health journey. That is what ANU Medical is all about - getting every patient started on their path towards optimal health, and being there every step of the way to ensure they succeed.

Frequently asked questions:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older

The only exception to this is that we do sell supplements for children’s health and well-being. These can be bought
by a legal caretaker/parent of the child(ren).

2. Must have a physical examination once (1x) per year

-ANU Medical is a telemedicine provider, that being said, we need to make sure that you see a licensed provider (MD, NP, DO, PA) to confirm your physical health and ensure legal compliance. Before starting treatment, you will be required to send a copy of your annual physical examination before starting, as well as to continue current treatment with us.

-If you have a recent physical examination (within 12 months of the appointment with ANU Medical, we can honor that appointment and can schedule you for an initial appointment.

-If you do not have a primary care provider (PCP), then you can go to any urgent care clinic (i.e. minute clinic) and get an annual physical.

Please make sure to get a copy of your results.

3. Must have a consultation with our provider(s) at least once a year.

In order to keep and renew your membership, ANU Medical requires you to see your telemedicine provider at least once per every 12 months. This is also up to the provider’s discretion on how frequent you may need to see them, and you could be required to see them more than once per 12 months.

4. Must have diagnostic labs done every 6 months; The following rules apply:

-Client is required to get baseline labs done prior to starting treatment. We do accept labs from a licensed provider (MD, NP, DO, PA)

-If you are on HRT (non-pellet therapy), the requirement will be to have labs drawn every 3 months.

-If you are on HRT pellet therapy, the requirement will be to have labs drawn 2-4 weeks before the next pellet insertion, or as required by the healthcare provider.

-For those not on HRT of any kind, the requirement will be to have labs drawn every 6 months to ensure that you maintain your health in the right direction.

-Additional labs may be required for the following reasons, but are not limited to these reasons:

1. Lab results have abnormalities that need to be monitored more frequently
2. The client has pre-existing conditions (i.e. hyperkalemia) that warrants further/more frequent monitoring
3. Discretion of the provider
4. Initially before starting a new program (i.e. had labs done for HRT, but decided to take peptides. A new HRT lab panel would need to be drawn. This also falls under the discretion of the provider.

-Labs usually take anywhere from 7-14 days to get the results. Therefore we recommend that you schedule your follow up visit at least two weeks after getting your labs drawn. (This is for LabCorp and Quest diagnostic labs).

-If you are getting labs from DUTCH Test, those can take anywhere between 10-14 days once the results are dropped off at your local UPS. It takes two days (not including Sundays) for UPS to get the test back to DUTCH. This time is NOT considered in the 10-14 day turn around.

-If you are getting labs from ZRT Labs, those can take 10-14 days to be completed. The shipping is not included in this timeframe and is similar to the DUTCH test results and shipping timeframe.

-The process of filling your medication starts with seeing the provider at ANU Medical.

-If the treatment plan includes a new prescription from a compound pharmacy, then the process will take longer than a typical pharmacy.

-With medication that can be fulfilled from CVS/Walgreens, etc. the typical turnaround time is within 48 hours or less after the prescription is written. For refills at a typical pharmacy, the provider approves them as they come in and fulfills all requests for refills within 1 day. The client will pay that traditional pharmacy once they pick up the medication(s). The patient can try to use their insurance and/or Good Rx in order to get a discounted rate. ANU Medical does not share any responsibility for the cost of the medication at the traditional pharmacy.

-For a compound pharmacy order the time can vary depending on the medication and route. All injectable medications come from out of the State of Arizona and those typically take 5-7 business days to get to the client, once the order is placed. This is based on standard ground shipping and can be expedited based on the client's preference. This preference must be verbalized, or the default will be ground shipping, or the shipping method that is required by the compound pharmacy. Weather or “ACTS OF GOD” can occur and can delay shipping. Shipping cannot be changed at that time and delays may occur.

-It typically takes 24-72 hours if ordering a non-injectable medication once the prescription is ordered and processed by the compound pharmacy, in order to make the medication and be ready for delivery or pickup. Delivery tends to add an additional 1-3 days, including the 24-72 hours it takes for the compound pharmacy to make or compound the medication.

-If the client is picking up the medication from the compound pharmacy, the client will get a text/call when the medication is ready to be picked up. If the client does not specify “pick up” when talking with the provider/office, the default will be delivery and the on-file credit card will be charged to reflect that.

-Upon requesting a refill for a compounded medication from a compound pharmacy, the credit card on file will be charged, right after the order is placed.

-There are no refunds and cancellations will result in the credit card on file still being charged. The reason is that each medication from the compound pharmacy is patient specific and therefore once the medication is made, the medication cannot be returned. The compound pharmacy does not accept returns.

-At ANU Medical we only use the finest 503A/503B FDA approved and audited pharmacies to fulfill our clients’ medication needs.

-There are some medications that can be ordered in a traditional pharmacy, and those medications will go through that type of pharmacy unless the route/dose needed doesn’t exist and needs to be compounded and/or if the client specifies that they would only like medication from a compounded pharmacy.

-As you can see, the medication ordering to a compound pharmacy has a lot of moving parts to it. If you are picking up the medication, you will get text/calls when ready. If you are having the medication shipped, you will get a shipping tracking code and can follow the shipment till it reaches your door.

*Medications from the compound pharmacies are at a discounted rate and therefore requires the client to call the provider/office at least 7-10 days before their prescription(s) run out in order to prevent a delay in the delivery of the medication(s). Once the medication is called in or requested from the patient, the credit card on file will be charged and no refills will be honored. If the clients’ schedule is at least 1(one) hour OR 2 (two) 30 min. appointments monthly, the process of getting the medication refills on time will not be a problem.

The simple answer is yes. You have to be at least 18 years of age or older to become a client of ANU Medical. However, we do have pediatric (children-age) supplements that are catered to promoting a healthy immune system and digestive system as children grow. These supplements must be purchased by an adult that is older than 18 years of age.

ANU Medical does not work with insurance companies for our services. The services provided at ANU Medical are unique to the patient and patient focused. The emphasis is on overall health optimization. Insurance companies believe that healthcare should run like traditional medicine (waiting for a problem to occur). Therefore, optimization and preventative medicine clinics are not covered by traditional insurance, as they believe that this type of medicine is elective.

HIPPA or “The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996” protects your personal health information (PHI) by setting up various rules and regulations to protect you.

At ANU Medical, we do not share or sell any personal information, and follow the HIPPA guidelines word for word.

We disclose minimal information to the pharmacies and labs that we use in order to order your medications and labs.
